HIV and AIDS
HIV and AIDS are chronic diseases that negatively affect the body’s immune system. AIDS, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV. The HIV virus cannot be contracted through touch, but rather is spread through sexual contact, pregnancy, breastfeeding or by coming in contact with HIV-infected blood.
There is currently no cure for HIV and AIDS, but certain medications have made it possible to manage the disease and slow its progression. Most people can live for many years with HIV before it causes AIDS; and some may never develop AIDS at all. Pregnant women, newborns and anyone who may have been exposed to HIV should be screened for the infection.
At CompreCare, we provide a variety of antiretroviral therapies for HIV infections. Please feel free to contact us at 1-888-644-8326 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn how we can help you.
